Angel, I like the original idea of implementing Sega Sonic, but you REALLY need to fix the animations badly. The title screen's and Sonic's in-game play needs lots more work and there's a glitch in the Save File where if you collect more than 4 of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, the Save File doesn't even register them or even show that they exist.

One playthrough, without collecting all the Chaos Emeralds took me about six hours, I never said I was the fastest Sonic player. Sonic Mania has helped me rediscover what it was I loved about Sonic growing up and it took me back to a time where I could just pick up a game and have fun.
